Well what do you know... I'm, running 20/20s and a TA1600 as a back-up amp right now while my DaviSound TB-8 is back there getting a free upgrade (a design change). The case looks and feels cheap, but inside is what you'd expect from Hafler...
The ONLY problem I have with it, which is the same problem I have with many amps is that it's noisey (though not any more noise than most others). That's why I got rid of my 20/20bas and went with the passives (besides it being cheaper and easier to use multiple speakers laster-on when I have the funds)... I can use my TB-8 which I can litterally turn-up wide-open, put my ear right-up to the tweeter, and if all is quiet in the control room, my ear can detect the faintest bit of hiss!!!
At a realistic working volume (about half of what the amp is capable of), we're talking you'd NEVER, EVER hear an ounce of noise coming out of your monitors and the amp being the source. That's absolutely NOT something I take lightly!!! It sure does make you feel better to know FOR SURE that ANY extra, unreasonable noise you hear coming out of the monitors is going to show-up on the end product and you can try and track it and possibly fix it THEN, BEFORE it gets to tape or on the 2-track mix.
