Hey,

I'm trying to build a custom rackspace in my studio desk. I have a vision that looks like it would work perfectly, now I just need to get the right equipment to deploy it!

What I'm looking for is just the metal rails on a rack that you screw your module into. Thats it. I can't seem to find them anywhere and I'm a bit leery about custom drilling my own because I know they'll come out shitty and lopsided. I will, however, have to cut them to size with a hack saw or something but I'm sure that will be ok. Either way, could I find these things at home depot? Or would I be better off cutting/ drilling my own? Or to I have to spend a fortune to have these rinkydink little things?

You can use 3/4" plywood laid on its side as rails. I've done this many times and it works great. Or you can buy pre drilled and tapped here.

I see these on Ebay quite a bit when I'm digging for rack gear. You can get the rails for around 10 bucks or less. Try running a search there.
