My ebought maxell ud 35 90 7" 1/4" tape arrived and after a short test it seems like great tape.
Smooth as through the transport. doesnt look to have been played back too much too. considering its from 81-83 yrs. It had some wierd indian tabla and flute music on it.
I've bulk erased it.
i'll do further test but so far so good. I'd reccomend it.
 
Maxell is good tape. Even the backcoated variety, used a different formula (word has it used whale oil :spank:)

The specs are close to Ampex 407. Somebody was kind enough to give me two boxes of UD. That was very kind.
 
I like it. I have been getting new unopened rolls off ebay. It works great and sounds great on my tascam 22-4 and 22-2. Its one of the tapes they recommend for that machine. And it doesnt get sticky.
