HI!
I have instaled in my computer 2 Maudio Delta 1010 i noticed some clicks now and then when listening to some recorded tracks.
I have SPIF OUT of one card connected to SPDIF IN of the other but i noticed that in Maudio Control Center both have INTERNAL CLOCK selected and locked.
When i try to change the second card's clock signal to SPDIF IN it doesn't allow me and continues locked as INTERNAL.

Can both cards work perfectly like this? (Both with each internal clock)
Is the reason for those clicks i hear the fact that the cards aren't in sync?

Thanks
Mario Raposo

The lack of sync could easily be the cause of your clicks.

It's a few years since I've used a Delta card but I think the set up was something like:

1. Connect the (white) S/PDIF connection of the card sending master clock to the in (red) connection of the receiving card. You should actually be able to daisy chain up to 4 cards from memory.

2. Open the M Audio Delta H/W. The installed sound cards will appear down the right hand side of the panel. Select the card sending master clock.

3. On the Hardware settings tab of the master card select “Internal Xtal” for the “Master Clock setting”. In the “MultiTrack Driver Devices”, “Single and In-Sync” or something like that (my memory is fading).

4. On the Hardware settings tab of the other card, select “S/PDIF in” for the “Master Clock setting”. In the “MultiTrack Driver Devices”, select “Single and In-Sync” again.

Hopefully this should work--but if it's what you've been doing, all I can suggest is updating/reinstalling the M-Audio Delta software and drivers. M-Audio have a pretty good user forum as well...might be worth trying there too.

Edited to Add: In the deep dark recesses of my mind, I seem to recall that there was a version of the 1010 drivers where the Word Clock in didn't work properly...if you continue to have problems, a driver update might be in order (but I can't recall what versions worked/didn't work).

I updated 1010 drivers and now works perfectly!

Thanks my friend!

Great! Glad it works now!

I just wish I'd remembered the driver thing before typing out my badly-remembered instructions!
