This evening I'm going to pick up a pair of MXL603's. Seems like there's been some talk about choosing a pair with the same colored dots. I tried a quick search but didn't come up with anything. Anyone know about this?

What the colored dots represent is the sensitivity spec so you can get a close match without going through a lot of trouble. Like our C4's and JM27 PAC, the 603's would also be matched at the factory, but I do not know of any colored dots that Marshall uses. That is a Studio Projects exclusive as far as I know....

terry--

you're thinking of people "matching" a pair of SP B1's using dots.

Like alan said, there's no "matching" of 603's by dots. that said, i've got an "unmatched" pair and they sound close enough for my purposes.....

cheers,
wade
