Alright, alright...in addition to my listening skills (I still say that little noise makes me think of a fishing reel though) I will work on my casting technique!

Baitcasters just take practice. Find you an empty field and get to work. I can chunk my surf rods with baitcasters a whole football field. But it took some practice.

Baitcasters rule for both finesse fishing and in terms of brute force. I find it easier to get good distance with a spinning reel though...

Spinners are definitely much easier to deal with. I use one for light tackle tablefare fishing.

But when casting a pound of bait and weight on a 12 ft rod, it's gotta be a baitcaster.

Good point. I don't think I've ever casted anything heavier than a 1 ounce lure!
