hi guys, this may be a stupid question, but here goes. i currently record into a roland vs2480 and that's all i use. it has a mastering room but i was wondering if i could just master my tracks to a stereo pair, record it to a cd-r then put the cd into my pc and master it using some mastering software. i've heard of a few things for pc that sound pretty good, but i don't know if this is how i would go about using them.

thanks for your time

andy

You have most everything you need in the Roland. If you play it to a CD recorder, the CD will be at 16 bit. If you learn how to master it inside the Roland, you will be mastering from 24 bit mixes.

as farview said u have evrything u need in ur Roland. But if you really want to do it on your PC then i suppose you could take a line out from the roland into the soundcard and mix down to the HDD using Wavelab to record and the use some mastering software such as T-racks 24.

Correct me if im wrong but this should work.
