Hello and thanks for a great site question I am working on a CD and very new to using software mixing tools, are there general settings for compression and limiting and is there a tool to keep the volume close to the same level as commercial cd's Thanks again,

Mixing and Mastering.
Thats what a good brickwall limiter does, boosts the level of your signal so it can compete with commercial releases. Dont use the limiter for boosting the level at mixing stage though. Always wait until after you have finished mixing.getarpicker said:
