I didn't record the Porterhouse stuff. I just mixed and mastered it. But, I did help come up with the drum sounds to tape mostly as I WAS there when they started the drum sessions and made some changes to a few things. The guy that did record them is a person I work with on projects a lot, so we use very similar recording techniques.
The Bass was mic'ed with
a C-1000S on a Harte
4X10 cabinet turned down really low. It was also DI'ed directly from the head with the Eq engaged.
The trumpet a 4033 going through an ART MP.
The Rhodes is real, as it all the instruments. Out of 9 songs, we only used a fake kick drum on about 3 of the songs from a D-4. Other then that, the only other unreal thing is a few analog synth path's, but those are obvious.
Yeah, the Porterhouse stuff is like ear candy for musicians probably due to the fact there is no singer on it messing everything up!

If you are interested in purchasing the CD, go to
www.porterhousefunk.com to order it.
Buy the way BK, there is a before and after of just like 2 mins of 1 song you can download. Only about 4MB total, but, at 128kbs.....
