can anyone reccomend a very good book on mastering? i've read that "Mastering Audio: The Art and the Science" is a good one, but is there any others that i should check out, or possibly stay away from at all costs?

yup........ if it isn't already, I believe Bob Katz' book will be the de facto "standard".......

Bobby Owsinski's "The Mastering Engineer's Handbook" is good too, but Katz' book provide much deeper detail.

Bob K's is a great book. Ive read alot of excepts from Owinski's but haven't gotten around to it. I would like to get it just because of the interview material. If you would like to learn more about mastering and have your questions answered by a handful of mastering legends I can post a link to the Mastering Web bbs.

i have bobby's Mixing Engineer's Handbook, which i really like, but ive read reviews about how his mastering handbook isnt up to par with his mixing one. if you could post that link SoMm that would be awesome.
