Does anyone else wish there was an option to change every track by a certain db?
It sucks going through manually changing each track by -2db or whatever.

Or is there a way and I have missed it for the past 4 years?

Yeah...in Multitrack view...go to View>Mixer Window...

theres a master volume, as well as a "board" of horizontal controls...

And this will change each track in multi-track view by a certain db??? Or will this just change the volume level in my monitors/headphones????

if you take the master volume up...the mixdown will be louder...if the master goes down...the mixdown will be lower...it does not affect the numbers you see as the volume of each track but it will lower the overall volume for mixdown and monitoring

Wow...to have missed that after all these years is disappointing...was this feature in CEV1???

Thanks for pointing this out.

no..the mixer window was not in earlier versions.

I wonder though if bringing the master volume waaaay down...like 10dB or more is not the thing to do though, but the individual tracks ought to balance out better. I only say this in comparision to an analog board. I have always tried to leave the master a OdB, and would only occasionally tweak it while monitoring if I was clipping too much OR if the track count was truely excessive and complex. I wish you could Select/Shift and do multiple fadars like other functions...like the solo, mute, etc. .....to get more than one going at a time. Kinda supprised it was actually not available, as stuff like moving tracks and other stuff is mandatory, imo. Maybe the master volume is a fake! I don't know where to find out about it. They don't say diddly about it in the "help", other than to say it is handy.

yeah...if the multi track is sounding sweet, and every so often a clip comes in...I might use the master Vol. to lower the whole mix by like -3dbs...

Eventually, I'll just envelope the few clips out..

Agreed. This would be a great function.

I asked about the master volume vs individual track volume controls once, and was told that they're interchangeable, and that's my experience. But I'm not sure if things are that accurate and interchangeable at the extremes - for instance, if a particular track or the master is at - 20 dB. I haven't needed to do that.
