Ohmage question 8 or 16 for 12" celestion speaker

I'm wanting to put a celestion vintage 30 in my marshall avt 50. Should I put in an 8 or 16 ohm because I'm thinking of using another amp driven by the marshall as the preamp and it's rated 4 ohms. Idea's, suggestions.........?

You don't have to match speakers that are run by 2 different amps. You need to match the speaker with the output of what ever amp is feeding it.

Maybe I misunderstood the question. If you are just using the crate for the speaker (not using the amp) and driving both the marshall and the crate speakers with the marshall amp, then you need to have the speakers match impedance. As long as they match ohmage-wise you will be in good shape.

Again, if you are slaving the crate amp (plugging your guitar into the marshall and going line out of the marshall into the power amp of the crate) then it doesn't matter.
