Hey guys,

I made it a little experiment to try to recreate this song with strictly Logic instruments/effects. Guitars were DI, all other instruments were software. How'd I do?

I am a logic X fan and this post reminds me why. I use both Pro Tools and Logic, but alway come back to Logic for it's pure simplicity and power. There is a touch of weirdness at the beginning of the song with that click at 13 seconds, but all in all really good job, your vocals are pretty tight. I really like how you bring it all together at the end - my only suggestion is to bring those piano hits down a bit more into the mix.

Did you use the new drummer feature that comes with Logic X for your drums? Great job and I look forward to hearing more of your work!

Thanks so much! Yeah, I have no idea what that click is :S I'll go dive in again and probably just rerecord that bit. And as for the piano, I can see what you mean, so thanks! For the drums: I didn't really need to use the drummer feature because the beat wasn't too complicated. I ended up just tracking it with a keyboard :P

The click sounds like the spot where the vox track starts. Try to fade in using the envelope on the track or volume automation. I don not know how to do that in Logic.

To me it seems the vox is slammed pretty hard with compression. Lots of mouth-type artifacts. Most notable during the intro. Backing off on the compressor would help. Maybe bring the compressor back up to where it s now for the main body of the song. I felt the kick drum lacked meat. A little eq shaping should bring it in nicely.

Nice song. I like the singers voice.

Ok, sounds about right for that click. Will do! Hmm will experiment on compression levels and bass eq, thanks!

Also thanks, I am said singer :P

I like the song. Indeed, the piano hits should be reduced a little. Would it work if you turn up the bass in the intro of the song?
