Lol. I know how they operate. I'd never pay for next day anything from MF. I didn't even want to buy these drums from them, but it saved me 500 bucks.

You saved 500 bucks, this is the kit you will get from MF! :p :p At least you will get the cymbals and the stool!

About to sell my Pearl MLX in favour of a Jazz Mapex setup; the cheaper one for Uni gigs.

Also, their hardware is not 'questionable', in my humble opinion they make some of the sturdiest stands around!

They're not here yet, but my free-gift studio clocks from a previous MF order showed up today! :D

To chime in on the original question - I got to hear Pat Petrillo play a Saturn series kit in a drum shop the other day and it sounded freaking amazing.
It had a lot to do with his playing I'm sure - but every aspect of the kit looked solid and just sounded amazing.

I am definitely going for the Mapex. I just need to see exactly how much room I won't have left in my Studio with a drum kit in there! :(

Gort, I put mine in a corner, similar to how I saw a pic of Greg's once...they don't take up alot of room that way, and I've gotten some ok sounds out of them.

Yeah you get a lot of OH reflection though. It's okay if you can deal with that. Since my drumming doesn't really ever sound good, I'm cool with my drums in the corner. ;)

Same.....other than some compression, mine have been mixed in pretty natural. The reverb has all been natural.

I am going to give the Music Store I deal with today a call to get some prices and availability.
