In the words of Michelle Dubois, listen carefully I will say this only once.
You rearranged the guitars and drums or replaced them with AI?
Guitars yes, drums no.
It doesn’t sound like any of the original music is in there
None of the original stems are in the mix which is a whole new production.
On the first listen, when I heard the voice I recoiled just a bit. It was kind of like a fight or flight response. I think some part of my psyche could hear myself singing, but at the same time it wasn’t me. And now after several spins of this bad boy, I’m still not 100% sure what I’m listening to.
The way this was made is by essentially using AI as session musicians.
When AI first started 'making music' it was a prompt based system that churned out, at best poor, quality songs with questionable lyrics that I wasn't particularly interested in. One thing that did catch my attention at the time was the ability to have any vocal sung by AI which could negate the need for session singers.
With the recent advent of AI daws this has all changed. If you are a song writer/producer who, like me, knows his way around a keyboard but isn't the greatest guitar player in the world (for example) you are now able to instantly add any instrumentation you have in your head simply by using your own stems, humming, beat boxing, taping on a desk for drums or anything that conveys the instrument line in your head to the AI track for it to play it for you.
Watch this it will explain better than me:
You can then add your own drums, keys etc. and anything you're happy with in your main daw to get the project over the line.
The vocal is made by taking your vocal stem and using it to train an AI vocal representation of you. What you are hearing is what AI thinks you sound like given the input it has been trained with (with better recordings of your voice it would sound more like you, often really close!). That model AI is then used to 'sing' the song which is done by splitting the song up and programming the AI to sing the right words at the right time. The programming can be you singing the vocal and having the AI replace the take (which I think is the best and most precise way to do it) or by playing the notes in and letting the AI get on with it.
So that's what you are listening to. Your song with the great lyrics you wrote (I wouldn't have done it if I thought it was no good) that inspired me to make the best version I could given the tools that are available today, tomorrow who knows!
Also, because the song is not an AI generated song in the prompt based way, you own the copyright and can do with it as you wish. I will waive my fee on this occasion especially as you didn't ask me to do it for you

If you let me know your email address I'll send you the WAV file.
Like I said before: Love it or hate it, it's happening fast.
Great work Manslick!
