Manslick - Rebel - needs a mix

Looking for help to mix or even redo this.

The main vox are recorded with two mics, one of which was overpowered and has a tint of distortion, which is what the artistic bent requires, but I am sure I didn't get it right...
Maybe you can work with it as is.
I wanted this to be primarily vox and drums with bass
The slide - well it's an accent and isn't perfect but I think it can be brought in for effect.

If anyone wants to take on this POS - let me know and Ill put the individual track on dropbox.

Or if anyone want to help me redo the whole thing, then cool.
I did this all today within an hour or so. I don't even know the words by heart. I prefer to do it all - like live.

Ok then here we go

Wurds
Rebel rebel - why you so mad
Rebel rebel - why you so mad?
Rebel rebel - why you so bad
Rebel rebel - why you so mad?

Because my momma - was put - out on the street
Yes my momma was put - out on the street

That's why I'm so mad

Rebel rebel - are you hungry
Rebel rebel - are you hungry?

Of course I am
My momma got put out on the street
We ain't had nothin to eat
For days and days

Rebel rebel what can I do
Rebel rebel my heart goes out to you
Rebel rebel - what can I do - for you
Rebel rebel - what can I do for you

Rebel rebel - I get it now
Rebel rebel - I get it now

Rebel rebel - why you so mad
Rebel rebel - why are you so bad so bad so bad so bad
You're bad ass
You're bad ass
bad ass

Hey there,

I took a very quick stab at redoing the mix. This was 100% done in Reaper using only native effects and free VSTs. I mixed it entirely on headphones, so I'm not sure how it'll translate on other speakers.

The material was quite rough to work with, but definitely some nice training material! I hope you like it.

I will be honest, I like the original mix. Maybe some tweaks, but the raw vibe kind of works.

Sounds really nice Emiel. I like it.
I purposely restricted the slide guitar in many places because I'm not a slide player.
The whole song was improvised with only a couple of retakes.
I see you faded out before the train wreck - nice work.
I did mine completely on a Tascam DP-24, and not make excuses, but to explain, that unit is limited on post processing.
It sounds like there is a chorus effect in the slide.
The mix sounds much better than mine. Much cleaner. The bass really sound good.
Thanks for the effort - I will need to rework this one.
Best Regards,

Thanks DM - yeah it needs tweaks.

It's raw - no click track and largely improvised throughout as evidenced by the pretty horrible part there right after Emiel faded LOL.

I created a kind of 50s vibe with the tracks. Tell me what you think.

I downloaded the files and loaded them into my DAW. Several tracks are heavily clipped, and the vocal and rhythm guitar are mixed together. Those things make mixing a bit of a challenge.
