I built an electronic kit out of a cheap old drum kit and it turned out pretty good. It's particularly useful as I live in a flat and so without it I wouldn't be able to practice much at all.

Anyway, I made a tutorial on how I made it which you might find useful.

If you decide to go this route and have any questions then just pm me.

Check out this kit. Looks like the guy built the frame out of PVC pipe and plumbing connectors, practice pads with piezo triggers. Check out the kick pad. A piece of plywood with a trigger on it. LOL

Another one of his kits is located here:

Yup. Mine looked about like that. Then I got a yamaha DS series. Now I am done. No more electric kits. I rent a little house now with mics and gear everywhere.

I would rather have a handsonic than my old homemade E kit. But thats just me. Maaybe your experience will be amazing.

That looks cool, man! I got a kick out of the things you need section when you got to the wood.
"Wood - Self explanatory really, you can get this anywhere, we got ours from trees." :D

Thanks Kramer,

It definitly has helped improve my drumming by allowing me to practice whenever I want without disturbing the neighbours. Once we had all the equipment and materials we built the whole thing in one day so it's quite easy to do.
