I find that sometimes during the day my vocals can sound good...and i can sing a certain song fine...then at other times in the day i cant reach nearly as well as what i could before...what sort of warm ups do people do to get the most out of their voices???

It takes me about 30 mins to warm up. I just do my usual vocal warm ups. Then I sing for a bit to find out how my voice is behaving. It doesn't behave before about 2:00 pm. Just do gentle lip trills in your upper register in the morning. It really does help for the entire day.

Singing problems during what times of day?
First thing in the morning, I sound awful. I've dreamed songs and as soon as I've woken up, gone and hummed them into a dictaphone. Then maybe a few months or even years later, I go back to the piece to start developing it, my croaky voice was so, um, well, croaky and tuneless that sometimes, I've not been able to work out what the heck I hummed !
