Making Stems

When I export from Cubase I can only export the "stereo mix" file or "batch files" I think the only way to make separate stereo files of stems is to mute the tracks I dont want in the stem.

Is that an acceptable way to make stem files?

I don't do much with "stems"...but yeah, in Samplitude, if I want to just export some of the tracks, I simply solo them...kinda the same effect.

There's probably a couple of other ways to do it...same end result.

Yeah. Some DAWs have a "mix selected tracks only" feature but, in reality, all that's doing is muting the tracks you don't select.
