making "clean" CD copies?

I burn audio at 8x all the time. Even though I have tried the 24x capability of this burner with success, it's so fast burning a disc at 8x that it is worth it to me to extend the "audience" of drives that will read these CDRs by burning it more slowly.

Rusty K,

I finally found the AG website:

http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/

AG does not burn CDs.

If I understand you dilemma correctly, your copies have more pops and clicks that the original? You may have already done this but try ripping to the HD and listen to the HD copy. If the HD copy is more "clickish" then the reading is crappy, otherwise the burning is the problem.

I don't think I will be much help to you on the burner side. I have always burned at 16x or faster (Sony CD burner). But from the discussions here about CD player compatibilty, maybe I better check my CDs a little more closely.

Hey Big Ear,

Thanks for the link. I'm going to go check it out...I'm still not clear on what/how the program works.

Well I would like to be able, just for simplicities sake, to pop a CD in my ROM and copy it but as I stated I don't make so many copies that burning from the HD would really be a problem either.

I do like to find out just why some things don't work like they are supposed to and I've got enough friends making crappy copies that I'm trying to help them out too.

Thanks again,

Rusty K
