So...anyone know how to make a jecklin disk? I'm trying to find the dimensions and failing miserably. I think I remember someone talking about it being a foot diameter...but I'm not sure. I'd basically be cutting out an aluminum circle out of the side of a medium tower computer case, then covering both sides with Akasa pax mate sound matting. (I'm a mad computer modder, so I've got plenty of the stuff...)

I made one out of a piece of aluminum and two mouse pads. The original ones were made out of an LP that was covered with some kind of heavy felt material.

if there are any web links on this subject... please feel free to post em!!!

Yo Track Rat! That third link there doesn't work, but thanks for the other two! :) You mention making one out of mousepads...I'm assuming these mouse pads are not 30 cm in diameter? :) Have you compared the sound you get with your disk to a larger one? I wonder if the shape of the disc also has any significant effect on the sound (rectangular vs. circular)...

I made one out of a piece of plywood and an acoustic cieling tile - works great.

I think it's more about getting a baffle between the two omnis for a bit seperation. Rectangular vs circular probably not a lot of difference but the size I'm sure would impact the way it behaves.
