Mad Modular MIDI Mogrifier - free Java program

Announcing public beta release of the MIDI Mogrifier (MM) -- a program that can generate, inspect, filter, and/or transform virtually any kind of MIDI information.


MM can be useful for:

• music composition
  • generative/probablistic constructions
  • absolutely specified patterns, sequences, and complete works
• real-time performance
  • turn your QWERTY keyboard into a versatile MIDI controller
  • use "in-line": MIDI in >> MM mogrification >> MIDI out
  • auto-accompaniment such as arpeggiations and chords
  • trigger stored patterns using MIDI notes or MIDI control messages
• novel approaches to the use of MIDI in non-musical applications

MM does not:

• read or play standard MIDI song files
• generate or process audio signals
• do laundry

Written in Java; requires JRE7 or better if using the .jar version
