MAckie 32 x 8 bus console w/ meter bridge & power supply. Also M-Audio DMP3 Preamp

Hi Guys,
I haven't recorded anything for 6 years. It's time to clear some stuff out. I already sold my RME converters and cards (from previous ad). FMR Audio Preamp is also gone. Maybe I will get back into it using a simple all in one setup or something but right now with the wife and kids it looks like I just need to clear some stuff out. All I have left now... and it took me a while to come to terms with selling it is a:

Mackie 32 channel 8 Bus mixer with the meter bridge and power supply. For those of you who know or have read the manual, its actually capable of 64 inputs and set up very well. It's time to face facts and there is no need to hang on to it for the sake of keeping it around. It's in great condition and you can look at it if you are local to North Jersey. I'm not shipping this thing but if you know someone in my neck of the woods you can work out a deal with them or something.

I see these things listed for lots of money but again its time to face facts. Its not worth $1500 or $1200 anymore. I know we bought these things for a lot of money but that was 10 years ago.

Checking out the auctions and comparing it I think a good price is $800. So first person to bring me $800 gets it. I know people use paypal and stuff but I'm saying $800 to me after all fees. I don't care how you pay.

I also have an M-Audio DMP3 left. I have the original box but I can't find the power supply. I was probably using a universal one but don't seem to know where it is. I can ship that but the cost will be on you. Someone make me an offer if interested. I haven't priced it out yet.

Do you have a hard shell case? How will it ship or is it for local pick up only?

M-Audio DMP3 ..... is it the black face or silver face?

Hi. No I do not have a hard shell case and I am not willing to ship. Sorry. I do live right outside of NYC if you know someone who is willing to buy it on your behalf and make arrangements for you but I simply do not have the time to coordinate anything like that. As you know, this thing is pretty big! I actually had the original boxes for the longest time just to find out that my wife had someone throw them all out when we cleaned the attic last year.

Here is a pic of the DMP3. To answer your question the top is silver but the front face of it is black. I had no idea there were different ones so I'm going to search that.

I would be interested in the DMP3 (and would need it shipped), but I'm bad at making offers...

Especially publicly, so I sent you a PM.

Ok. The dmp3 is pending sale tomorrow.
A lot of people have expressed interest in the mackie board but no one local. I am thinking about offering shipping on it but I don't know where to begin. I think I'm just going to head down to ups and see how much they would charge for packaging. I want it done professionally. Anyone have any experience with shipping someone this size?

OK. The DMP3 has officially been sold and has been shipped.
The Mackie is about to be "sold" as well. The reason I say "Sold" in quotes is because I actually got a real great offer from a local store that happened to need one. They will offer me some decent merchandise credit. Don't think I can beat that on the open market. If someone wants to throw in a last minute offer please let me know but it would have to beat $850 at this point. Thanks for your time.

Now that this stuff has been sold, I can concentrate on getting a simpler setup... so its off to the forums to see what's new...

I just received the DMP3. It appears to be in great condition, but I can't test it until I get the power adapter from eBay... Hopefully it will be here tomorrow; I don't want to have to wait until Monday.

Have fun with that DMP3. I love mine :) If the power supply doesn't show up tomorrow - you could try digging through other old power adapters you have. As long as it's 9VAC, rated to 1A (1000mA), and fits (2.5mm plug) then you're good to go! Maybe a stretch...but I know how wall warts tend to accumulate...;)

I tried searching before I ordered one... The closest I have here is 12VAC 1A, and I'm not trying that. I know I have a 9VAC at home, but I'm at college 3 hours away.

I ended up buying a Linksys AD 9/1C adapter instead of the M-Audio one because it's cheaper and all of the specs seem to match up. The tracking number says it's on the other side of the country...

EDIT: In case anyone is looking for an alternative adapter in the future, the AD 9/1C does NOT fit. It's inner diameter is 2.1mm instead of 2.5mm.

That's a wicked long cord!!!

I just had to ---

I got the wall wart... But it doesn't fit :(

I had read that both were 2.5x5.5mm, but apparently the AD 9/1C is 2.1x5.5mm... So either I need to buy a different adapter, or I could buy a new end and chop this one off...

Edit: Looks like RadioShack has a 2-pack of the plug for $3.19, so I guess I'll be going there some time soon. They call it a "Size L Coaxial DC Power Plug." It looks a little short though... we'll see.

More editing: There is also a size N that is also 2.5x5.5... This one actually says the barrel length is 9.5mm. Anyone know how long the DMP3 needs?

Another update: I haven't gotten out to radio shack, but I found that I currently have a 2.5x5.5 plug on a device that fits a 2.1x5.5 plug... and the device requires 12V DC, and it's current power supply is 12VAC (I got the item and adapter on eBay together... it works fine though). I'm heading to Goodwill to see if I can find a proper adapter for it, and if I find one, I may just use the plug from this adapter with the AD 9/1C adapter. That would be cheaper, but it might be smarter to get a proper plug from radioshack that's meant to be soldered onto another thing.

One more update... for now: I found a suitable adapter for this other thing for 25 cents at Goodwill, so I can do the transplant with my existing adapters. :) It would probably be best to get some heat shrink tube stuff, but I'll probably have to settle for electrical tape. My laptop power supply is insulated by regular scotch tape.

Final update? At least the last one on this post: I finally got home and got to try it out. I haven't gotten it soldered and taped up yet, but I cut and stripped the ends and tied them together. The DMP3 does work. :) It's pretty sweet... But now I need a new interface too. My Mobile Pre USB has noise even with nothing plugged in and the volume turned all the way down... And it doesn't have line ins that bypass the pres. And it's 16-bit :P

Oh man bro. sorry you had to go through all of that trouble to get the adapter. I wish I could have found it for you but it had been six years or so since I used that thing. I hope you enjoy the preamp. It has always served me well!

It's all good; it was a fun and educational experience.
