mac recording help

[Sly On The Fly]

Hey, I was wondering if I could get some help with recording on my macbook. I have garageband, but every time I record guitar, vox, drums etc. with the built in mic, it just comes out bad.

any suggestions/purchases I should make/easy ways to record well?

Built in mic.. you need external mic.. the options are endless!!

You need a recording interface and a few microphones.

You need to ask yourself a few questions so you know where to start.

-What is your budget?
-Do you want to record everything at once or each instrument individually?
-Does your room/recording/mixing space sound ok?
-Do you have good speakers to monitor what you are recording?

After you answer those maybe someone can chime in with a couple of suggestions for what exactly to get.
