I have a dual OS boot up menu on my PC as I have recently installed MAC OS X 10.4.6. So, all hardware has been detected correctly by OSX. My firewire card(T.I chipset) is detected properly as well. However, under the firewire card's bus devices' menu, the MOTU is not detected even though it is connected. I have downloaded the MOTU drivers for Tiger OS...but OS X doesn't detect it at all. Whenever I try to open the MOTU CueMix or Audio Console, it tells me there are no present MOTU devices connected to my system. How can I make OSX detect my MOTU? Any help would be greatly appreciated... :)

Am I missing something here? You are booting a Windows machine with Mac OSX?

That was my question too...

I've got a Macbook and run OSX and Windows XP2, but I'm not following your description of your machine...

Well, everything's on my signature.

Sounds like the FireWire card isn't really working correctly. I'm not sure why, though....

IIRC, there was a bug in the early PCI Express TI chipsets that caused them to try to do FireWire 800 over a FireWire 400 connection, IIRC. If you happen to be running into that problem, try a different FireWire card.

Beyond that... that's so far from a supported configuration that I wouldn't even begin to know where to begin tracking it down. :D

This is probably a waste of a small amount of time, but check this out. I'm still on OS 10.3.9, so things may have changed, but in my applications/utilities folder I have a program called Audio MIDI Setup. I recently had a problem with programs suddenly thinking my Delta 66 was a 2-in 2-out interface when things had been working fine for months. I already had the latest driver and so on. The M-Audio guy suggested I go into the Applications/Utilities folder and use the program that allows you to repair disk permissions. That didn't fix my problem, but while I was in there I noticed a program called Audio MIDI Setup. I opened up that program and sure enough the Delta 66 was selected as a 2 ch interface and when I clicked to select it as an 8-ch interface, my programs were all happy again and able to see all 6 ins and outs. You might want to check it out. It'll only take a few seconds.

Fingers crossed in the remote chance this is of any help.... :)

can you get the 828 to work under Windows ?

That would tell you all your hardware was OK however Im pretty sure your problem is a form of copy protection apple has built into its OS. In the good old days this took for the form of bits of the OS being located on ROM chips on the mother board. Now it seems they are using code.

But I see no hardware in the Audio MIDI setup. Cause in that panel, you have the choice of selecting inputs and outputs for your soundcard. But my soundcard is not even detected at the first place.

Simon, yes the 828 works perfectly on Win XP pro.
