Ethan,

Those last new pictures look great! :)

The panels are darkening up real nicely!

Cheers! :)

Those sides look so great I had a fleeting thought... resize/redeminsion your photos as needed, print them out and glue to the sides of my mixer. :D

Sort of a digital woodworking plug-in kinda thing.

But seriously, I think I have enough info from your site to give the real thing a go… nice work!

:)

Just a progress photo

Here is a look at what we are talking about. I still need a few more coats to get the surface and depth tha I want. But as you can see it is coming along....

Looks great! A work of art!

(If mine look half that good, I'm good) :)

Look's great Ethan! I just took apart an old oak table. Maybe I'll use some of the the top to make some sides for my M35. I have to check the width of it.

Think that I'm done.

Well I think that I am done with these panels. I've got about a quart of captains varnish into them (at $25 a quart) for 9 or 10 coats, I lost count somewhere in there. I'll be keeping one set and putting the other 2 up on e-bay when I get the time and a good photo. I think that I have about 10 hours into the project spread over the last few months.

I'll be adding a few more photos to the Url but they are from a 10 mpixel camera and are about 2 megs each so I need to do some reduction first.

Here is the set I will keep. The others are a little lighter but all will darken a bit with age.

Regards, Ethan

Nice looking. I hope mine for my 200 series turn out at least half that good... I'll be happy. :)

Right now I'm thinking of making just one set. I have the right side off of the M-208 and the left side off of the M-216... and I have them pushed together so they look like one freaky mixer that Tascam never made. So I'll only need one set of sides instead of two.

The only trouble is I have really nice dust covers for each of those mixers, so I will have to get one custom made. That factor might make me change my mind... don't know. :)

Those look beautiful! :)

Is shipping included?

I'm not sure if I saw any details about that in the auction?

Cheers! :)

And for anyone curious out there, my maximum bid was not 40 dollars so beware! :D

Cheers! :)

2 sets

There are 2 sets Jeff so I am sure one couldl come your way....It is not in eBay.

The second has a knot on the upper edge that some days I really like and others I think I should have hidden it on the bottom.

Well, the ones pictured in the auction look pretty good to me. I'm sure I'll be happy with those. ;) ....assuming I win the auction? :)

Cheers! :)

I won the auction! :)

I was kind of disappointed that no one else made a bid on them. I had a pretty decent maximum bid and it never got challenged. :o

Anyway, Ethan will be shipping them out to me on the 9th when he gets back in town and I'll be sure to post a picture once I get them installed on my mixer. ;)

Cheers! :)

I don’t know whether to say congrats Jeff or sorry Ethan… both, I guess. It’s enough to make a guy want to go out and find an M-300-something just to have a need for those panels. :)

Sounds like insider's trading to me!

..............;)

Yeah, I feel badly too for Ethan. The starting bid should have been higher as I know he put a ton of work into making them. Perhaps I should be a gentleman and add something extra in the shipping charges to make things right. I didn't bid on them to steal them; that's for sure. :o

Cheers! :)

Just to let everyone know who's interested, I received the panels today from UPS and they arrived safe and sound and look great!

I'm gonna put them on the mixer latter tonight and post a picture once I've cleaned all the dust off my mixer!

Thanks again, Ethan!

Cheers! :)
