Has anybody done any mods to their M300 series mixer mic pres? I'm thinking that one could do a side by side test at each mod to see what if any improvements could be made. And with the (fairly) large number of M300 mixers out there it might be a useful exercise.
I'm thinking along 3 lines:
Precision metal film resistors and better quality caps in the signal path along with power bypassing.
Swap in OPA2227, THS4032 etc for the 5532 opamp.
Upgrade the 2SC1844 with a matched pair of (who knows what other transistor).
Share you thoughts and experience.
