I've found that shreve audio, www.shreveaudio.com, has very good prices on MOTU stuff compared to other retailers. They have the best price on the 828 that I've seen so far.

Glad to see you are smart enough to go with the 1224 over the 2408, you'll be much happier with the sound quality. If you can cut it, go with the 1296 though, it sounds fantastic for the money, and it has 12 inputs.

Thank you gidge and tubedude maybe one of you might also take a look at my other unanswered question in this forum before it falls of the page on compressors/micpres:-) yes thats the one with 0 replies but many taking a look :-))

yes the 1296 seems nice as well tubedude hmmmm now just to find one of these motu,s with the card for a blowout deal

by the way would the 1224 be much better then the delta 10 10,s package considering the jump up in price thats something else i was wondering about as well ?

thanks alot guys Wayne

hahaha gide posted to me somewhere else geez ive been here all day time for a break he he

I'd take the 1224 over the 1010, but I would take the 1010 over the 2408. The 1296 I would take over ANY soundcard, unless I had some good outboard converters.

Have you used all the MOTU products? Why do you not like the 2408? Is this personal experience?

I use a 2408 for it ADAT Light Pipes. It is a fine card for that. Some people don't like its A to D converters though.

Same here. While I know the limitations of the converters I don't think they're that bad. I'm using external word clock.

www.shreveaudio.com they had the 1224 for 1249 usd and they have the 1296 for 1749usd gee thats double here in australia o well may wait for january sales and see whats out there then

Thank you rubo :-)) :) will look into this

tubedude been trying to contact you with no success as yet :-(

how can i contact you ??

Hi there Tubedude thanyou for replying me :-)

Well looks like the 1224 has dropped in price again 1099usd at 8th street:-) thats getting closer to what id like to pay.

i guess ive got a few questions for you on other related gear as well but i may just send that to you in a message so you know where iam coming from rather then confusing all here.

the 1224 motu core system in comparison to the delta 10 10,s what is the difference and am i better off with one over the other and if so why is this if i may ask id rather make an informed decision here so this is why i am asking you tubedude

1224 works much better with Mac then PC. You should choose you're software first, then pick the audio. I hear that Motu's stuff doesn't work well with Sonic Foundry's products. I also hear a lot of people running it with Sonar without any problems. I'm on G4 running Digital Performer with 1224 so latency is not even an issue for me - works flawlessly. The 1224 unit has much better converters then 1010 and better drivers. Another thing to consider is Tech support, Motu's doesn't exist - you'll wait for a month before you get an answer. So if you get stuck and can't find the answer in forums and newsgroups good luck.
