M box 2 and S/PDIF - ADAT inputs

I would like to know if I can purchase an M BOX 2 (mini, pro, factory...) and use it as a way to connect my MACKIE ONYX 800-R 8 channel analog mic preamps via the S/pdif or lightpipe ADAT connections. In the M BOX specs it says it has the S/pdif...but can I have my 8 input channels connected to the M BOS 2 via the 2 digital S/PDIF inputs?

I am already doing this with my 003 interface (via lightpipe ADAT)....but I would like to keep this at home, and take the smaller unit (M BOX) and the MACKIE on the road to record.

The Mbox 2 has SPDIF not ADAT so no you cannot put 8 digital channels into it from your Mackie.

The SPDIF connection is a stereo connection, so you can only send two digital channels.
