Is it worth to pay almost twice more to buy a M-Audio Solaris over a Behri B-2 Pro?
If yes - why EXACTLY?

Please, answer ONLY if you personally used both mics. (Answers like "try an SP" don't help much.)
Also, people bashing Behringer just because it is Behringer - please, don't reply.
I'd like to hear some unbiased opinions (if it's possible)...

For a lot of B-2 Pro reviews and direct comparison with other mics go to http://www.harmony-central.com/Recording/Data/Behringer/B2_Pro-01.html .
I've eard some Luna recording (Luna=Solaris with fixed cardiod pattern) and I think it's a good microphone and has got a good value for money.
I personally own two B-2 Pro (and some other like AKG Solidtube, C-414 B-ULS, C-3000B, C-3000, Shure Beta 58, SM-58, SM-57, etc.) and I think they has got a FANTASTIC value for money.
The matter is - which kind of instrument would you record and which sound would you achive?

PS: a good pre-amplifier, compressor and so on are also very important in sound shapeing!

PPS: execuse me for my orrible english but I'm italian.

...the story has it that when Rode moved it's microphone 'manufacturing' to Australia (originally they just modified Chinese product) the company that produced the NT2 for Rode (797 Audio) sold the remainder of the components/production for the NT2 to Behringer and thus was born the B2/B2-Pro model...it's virtually identical to the Rode (I own both)...when you consider how popular the Rode NT2 was a few years ago (used on many pro sessions) you have to see the value of the B2-Pro...797 Audio manufactures the Studio Projects line as well...at $149. it is a very capable mic, although it exhibits some of the characteristics (some considered negative) associated with most Chinese LDCs, but those same traits are also common to the M-Audio line as well...I'd go with the Behri...
