Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the velocity sensitivity on the keystation 66?

At the moment its basicly impossible to hit 127 without smashing my fist onto the keys in a moment of rage.

cheers

There is no midi command that will compress the velocity or move the lower velocities up to the top of the key travel or however you want to put it.

That function is usually done through a user selectable series of velocity curves. Read your manual, then go into the unit and see if there's not something that the manual doesn't mention as far as a velocity curve utility page. It may even be a hardware knob on the side or back of the unit.

Failing either of those, there's a feature in MidiOx called a 'translation map' that would be able to help, but you'd need to run it every time you wanted to play the Keystation...

.

yep ive read the manual several times, there is nothing i can see in there. i was hoping for a workaround other than editing all the notes in the piano roll.

ill check out that MIDIox thing.

cheers

Ah I figured it out, you have 5 keys too many! :p

But seriously I dont think the keystation series will alow that sort of functionality. Try e-mailing M-Audio Tech support they could give a yeah or neah.

I had an evolution keyboard with the same problem. I emailed tech support and got an answer within 2 days. I recommend emailing them, chances are you could have your problem solved and not have to spend any money!

Have the same problem with my Studiologic TMK-88... it was months before I realised my crummy sound was down to the board and not my sound module  otherwise I would have exchanged mine straight away as well (and sadly changing velocity curves results in very unnatural and dodgy responses in my opinion)
