Here is a song I'm doing for a client. This is in the middle stages. The vocals, at least, will be re-done.
what are your thought... what can be with the arrangement... what instruments should be added where?

Peace!

Really great tune  And the strings are perfect for this!

There's a bit of sibilance on the vocals which can be addressed on the retake I guess.

Vocals here are more my taste - reverb/echo wise. She has a good voice. Is there a particular reason the vocals are being redone (sibilance?) cause it sounds good on the initial listen.

Big crack at 3:58.....

I like what you've done arrangement wise here, not much to suggest. There's so much you could do I suppose - more keyboards I guess, tastefully inserted here and there.

Good job so far....:cool::D:cool::D

I like the tune better than her other one. The string arrangement is nice, it sounds a bit fake so I might back it off a bit. The vocals are good, maybe just a hair too wet.

The whole shebang seems a bit wet, the individual parts arent coming through as clear as they could. I like the song quite a bit, she has more confidence singing this one than the other one. The strings could taper off at the end.

come on...this is for a client....this is a starting point surely.

The string arrangement is a bit dominant and you want the vocals to be the show. That's as simple as moving the fader, isn't it? The vocals are another matter. Her voice quality is very nice, though pichy at times. Don't you have V-vocal? Can't you fix the drawn out notes that are wrong?

My DAW has v-vocal and I should use it on my own vocals, but I'm too lazy.

It's your job, Shawn. Ain't that tough to do.

It's a pretty song, she has a pretty voice. It's worth fixing, don't you think?;)

Thanks Ido.. The original vocal here is just a scratch vocal, but it may well stay... thanks for the heads up on the "big crack"

I was trying the "ryman auditorium" impulse in my reverb. I don't like it much either, actually. I was just wanting to see if I could put the whole shebang in an acoustic space.

Yep.... those strings are fake, fo sho. Maybe there's a real living violinist around here someplace that might help me out with my sorry string tracks :p

Actually, on this one, this is probably close to the end result. She cried when she heard it. I think that's good

It already Antares Auto-toon on it. I'm def gonna work on the vocal, and make sure it's the center piece of this song....

Thanks to everyone who repsonded on this one....
