Dammit, Jim, Shut Up!
Participant--I'm not mad at you at all, my friend! In fact, I deeply appreciate your long response--to which I have not had adequate time to respond to. What I wanted to say was--thank you so much for the extreme vote of confidence. Its guys like you that make this forum fun and meaningful. If you think you upset me for some reason, its all in your mind! I consider you a friend and a valuable part of the board.
Yeah, I'm getting to be an old coot, but dammit, I still love music of all kinds and all the people who put up tunes here keep me young and into whatever is happening. This is an oasis in a desert of insipid marketing crap that gets called music. Man, I heard a tune tonight that was so awesome--and I know I'll never hear it on the radio or see the video on MTV. But it was real and it was HERE. Its stuff like that which humbles me and moves me to try and be better.
In this life there ain't no arriving. Its all a progression toward an impossible goal. Its guys like you that keep me trying, and I thank you for that!
