Guernica, do you mean to say that transferring a .wav file requires a mono file? I myself have never actually tried it, just proposing a theory...

Hey Crawdad -- didn't realize the drums were kind of put together until I started reading this thread ... Very good effort there, and pretty hard to do ...

Do you have a sampler? This may be a way to solve the problem by converting the drums into samples and then sequencing them ... I don't know if this would work but in theory it might. The actual drum performance is good...this may be a way to get them to sit just right ...

Again, good song! :)

Hey guys,
Sluice- No, I was refering to mp3's. I work w/ a stand-alone recorder, and havent done much with .wav files. If they end up being the way to go as an efficient means of getting this done well, as youve suggested, .......I'll learn damnit.:D

Lt.-I think youre right regarding the stereo items. .....with the click there at the beginning, there really isnt any need for the side reference track. ....There is something about splitting up a stereo track that sounds scary though..... .....have to look into that.

.......Im gonna start a new topic on collabs in this forum. Im starting to feel like an ass stomping all over crawdad's thread.

Finally I get to listen to this masterpiece,Iv'e been trying for three days!

Really nice guy's,the guitar sound is awsome!
Sax is wonderful,as is par for the mighty LT!

For the way you guys did it,I think it sounds great.
The songwriting is really the highlight, hat's off to Crawdad!:D

Really enjoyed it,thanks for taking the time to do this guys.
Hope it's the start of things to come!

Pete

Sorry for the delay in getting to this. Better than any version yet, no doubt. I love the tone on that snare. I wish I could get a sound like that. Ditto on the lead guit.

First rate job gentlemen.

well no wonder the drumhits sound so dang consistent!

cheaters!!!!!!!

hahahaha electronic drumkit and samples...

even i would sound good that way cause i could use the quantize function on the drum module!

i would sample my own set tho cause i dont like anybody else's samples...

i think voxvendor's idea sounds great!

ive listened to some of his stuff at nowhere and it sounds really together.

it would be another collaborator doing a part!

AND the rest of yous could just forget about it until he presents version 4!!!

:)

the snare theory

ok, check this out

http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=1445&alid=-1

song: abgeh

this is the original with the 16/44.1 wave files that i burned to disk and shipped. it sounds tighter to me so i think some latency was introduced somewhere along the line beyond what's in my computer. i even compressed the snare and bass drum and added some reverb to see if something would happen. but check it for me, lemme know if you hear the latency here, cause i can't. i mean i'm a little off in some places but not THAT far i don't think.

hey jeap, no quantizing here btw, ever try to quantize a drum roll? i did add the china cymbal after the fact though ;). everybody should own one of these v-kits, great stress relief without stressing out everyone who lives with you!

so my theory about the crack of the snare being off is not true. i actually zoomed in and the td-8 lags the soft sampler by about 4 ms!

anyway, this version sounds different to me that what c'dad posted.

mmm: the snare is a combo of a real loose and low td-8 snare and the NI Acoustic Studio drums 'Large Drum Kit' snare. If you want to, send me your next song in advance sans drums and I'll see what I can do.

crawdad: if you wanna send me yours and lt bob's tracks also, i can give the mix a try as well. i wouldn't mind doing a couple things differently now that i've heard what he's doing. i might accent some of his hits.

Sounds sweet to me now. I don't hear a thing wrong with the drums any more, great job  :D

yep.

stripped down lean and mean.

the slide sounds even better here.

drums sound right now.

needs a tenor sax.

the drummer should sync everything up.

but can you trust a drummer to mix????

ha ha ha i remember the first time i tried to do a single stroke roll on a drum machine! it sounded like a machine gun.

with my sampler tho i can record rudimental double stroke rolls of any length at tempo and sample the whole roll. that could be triggered on an auxiliary multi-pad with however many different rolls.

i sampled 7 9 and 13 stroke rolls for one of my recent tunes but i didnt use em.

i really do want to get the electronic kit. and believe me i will use the quantize function no matter what!!!!!

:)
