I have been looking at a beyer m201 that is rated at 600 ohm instead of the usual 200 ohms. Is there any application where the higher impedence would be a good thing? I would imagine that a 600ohm mic would have more tendency for high frequency attenuation with long cables, but otherwise, how would it compare with a regular 200 ohm m201?

It would be OK to stick it in to a guitar amp but I don't thing that would stop it sounding bad ! Mics just don't generate a lot of electricity !
