And just for something different, try out a Pignose too. Solid state, TINY, cheap, great for grungy rock tones. Easy as pie to record them. Frank Zappa is the most famous studio user, but he's not the only one.
No question. The problem with the Carvin V16 is the cabinet is way too small. It does have a ton of mod potential though.
I played it right after playing a bassman, and I almost thought I was still playing the same amp (ok, it's not AS good, but pretty damn close) verry clean, and you can press the boost for a bit of crunch. amazing for blues. I highly advise this amo. not shure what the USD price is though.
