I like it dude. Parts of it sound a little too Satriani-ish though. I keep thinking of that "summertime" song when the main riff is playing with the harmonizing guitars. Also, I think a different drum pattern would sound more "surfy". Something more like a Boom-Whack-Whack...Boom-Whack....if that makes any sense at all. :p

Pretty interesting, and damn good guitar playing. Yes, the drums are hidden, and the entire mix sounds a bit muddy to me. Not as much audible separation of instruments as I think is necessary. Like the guitar tone, and the performance is good. Just want to hear it more refined. Nice job!

Hey queepster...

I listened to this a few times tonight...very impressive guitar playing and captured nicely tone-wise. The whole thing is pretty intense - not much room for the listener to catch their breath there .

Listening on tiny laptop speakers, but on this at least, the guitars kind of overpower most everything else. Regardless, a very tight and energetic tune with great clarity. Nice goin' man :D!

Good all around except for thedrums: level & pattern as described by Greg.

REALLY worth fixing!
Generally very Cool, though - is it me or is the bass over in a corner?

Just the drums, Queep and you're set! Damn great guitar playing, this thing rocks!

Joey :):):):)

Seriously good wanking. Who needs good drums when you play guitar like that?

Satriani....ugnh:o while I respect him greatly as a guitarist..his music tends to be kinda cold imho....I kinda hear the "summertime" vibe also...I was actually trying to channel a vintage Nugent vibe i.e. instrumentals like "Homebound" off Cat Scratch Fever album.......wanna kick those drums up in the mix so I can hear them better before I change them....

Thanks for the guit props! I will look at carving out some mud .....there is a lot of guitar tracks on this:o..I could probably thin out 1 or 2 to remove the clarity....On vacation so when I return, will be working on this...thanks for the feedback!

Hey heat, yeah...last few things I have done have had vocals, so wanted to change it up and do something really fast...I mix like a guitar player with a bad ear :p...especially on my 1st mixdowns...will work on a better balance upon remixing....thanks for the listen!

Hey Ray....I think you may be referring to the panning of the bass? I have it panned a bit to the left....also I think as well as the drums, it could be a little more prominent in the mix....will be addressing when I return to civilization from vaca....

Thanks Joey...used my strat for all of this....I love that guitar! Will try and fix those drums!

Ha!!:D Thanks man, really appreciate it!!!

What to try, Q ... is you know the drums start the piece nice and clear?

Rather than pile over that and have the drums disappear under, keep the drums at that level, and build DOWN under them, making certain the drums keep their punch and not get buried. You then want LOUD? THEN apply the compression, and the drums will keep their place.

I LOVE the melodic hook in this ... nice work.

The beginning is very Satriani. Then !!! It shifts into high gear !! The vibe around 1:40 is definatley Nugent all the way. Then it does go back into that Satriani vibe !! I like it. I wish I could play lead like that. Makes me want to crawl under a rock. That Nugent sound in the middle is the bomb. Dog Eat Dog !!!!!!

Ha! Cool...been digging some vintage Nuge lately since I picked up a copy of Double Live Gonzo! CD:D....Politics and bluster aside..Nugent definitely has some great basic R& Roll jams that were a big influence for me while I was 1st starting out on guitar back in the 70's!
Thanks for the props man, really appreciate it!

Im a big NRA type guy :) Hence my name BushmasterM4 (AR15 variant)

That's an interesting sound. Yeah, satriani, but I haven't listened to him for several years. So, very original. Ha.

Where, or what, is Tunacock Beach?

Cool ending, made me laugh.

Hey kev, sorry i missed your comment earlier :o...I tried your approach on my remix attempt on this...think I'm getting closer to the way I envision it...bass guitar may be a little overpowering now...posting link to new mix shortly...thanks for listening!

fat_fleet: heh heh heh.... tunacock.

:cool::D:p

I really don't listen to Satriani much...kinda old school and prefer guys like Jeff Beck or Zappa for guitar instrumental stuff...I have a work in progress sci-fi concept album type thing about a 1/2 chicken, 1/2 tuna fish mutant creation in the spirit of 60's -70's B horror movies, most of it is on my soundclick site.....thanks for listening, glad ya liked it.

Here is a link to latest mix on this...tried to bring the drums and bass guitar out a little.....
