Loud computer & foam questions...

To sum up my question quickly. Do you think a piece of 2" standard packaging foam will catch on fire inside of my aluminum computer case. My case hasn't read to get hotter then 86 degrees farenheit inside. But I want to be on the safe side. I got the idea from another expensive case that actually uses foam inserted in empty drive bays etc. to reduce noise.

Also, their is a type of thin foam sold for trying to absorb case noise. Check out this link:

They don't mention anything about fire code or safety with it though. What do ya think? Appreciate anyones thoughts on this! Thanks!

is that liquid cooling? mine are all air and extremely noisy so i haven't started recording with them, i'm still using an all-in-one box.
 
Yeah I'm doing Ethans idea as well but just not like he did. I think the way he has it set up is just kinda ugly in my opinion. What I'm doing is actually building a simple case for my tower with the front and back open and a little room on the sides to still get air in and out of the case but other then that pretty snug and with 703 or foam. So....

Yeah. I'm trying to cancel out all noise (or as much as possible with these known methods...) so I'm going both routes. inside the case and outside.

So does anyone think that standard moving foam would catch fire?

I know foam can catch fire and when it does burns super fast....

So... anyone?
 
It's something like this. Made from MDF with the computer mounted inside.
