Whats the best RAP MIC??!
Recorded this girl with some casio keyboard that had Midi, A firepod, and a KSM44. It could have been better, but not too bad =]

Check it out here: www.myspace.com/mikeebproductions

Sound quality gets killed on myspace! I HATE IT!!!

Cool!
Very minimalist approach and the sound is good. the piano is very well done
My complaint is the vocals weren't very distinct, While I liked the melody and timbre of her voice, I couldn't really make out what she was singing about. Was it some real deep soulful stuff or was it a jingle for dial washing powder? don't know couldn't make it out.

Maybe it's the youtube crappy player, Maybe it's my desktop speakers or perhaps the homebrew I just drank or it could even be her style, however I'm listening to some Weezer on the same setup now and can understand every word

I could also be looking at the wrong track cos it wasn't called lost to be found. It was whatever came up on the top of the player

Hey man thanks! Yeah, the song is a little boring and her words are not as pristine as I would have liked. She has a good voice, just doesn't annunciate too great. Just a little side project, charged her like 50 bucks a song or something

Really nice mood you've created. Piano is a little sloppy at points, like it's trying to catch up.

As BP pointed out, the vocals are well done but a little insignificant, sort of like she's just going through the motions, on pitch, in time but I don't really get what she's singing about, she has to hit those syllables a little harder at key points. She has a really nice voice, just has to hone it a little more.

Thanks again man. I agree, the piano is kind of sloppy at points. I appreciate your comments though. !

I think she has a nice voice, pretty distinctive, myspace encoding definitely degrading it though, a touch telephon-y at the louder/higher parts. Piano sounds good, good vibe/reverb, pretty realistic really. Enjoyed it!

I'd try to match the voice verbs to that of the piano. It sounds a little artificial that the voice is so much dryer that the piano... (City Lights)

Alternatively/additionally, I'd add some more high end to the voice or maybe some slight slapback delay...

But I'm always doing quite wet mixes... so what do I know

The change of verbs becomes very obvious in the piano tacet parts in Lost to be found...
