Hi Guys!!!
I am looking to buy a usb or firewire interface for my sony Vaio laptop.
I have all the software needed to do home recordings(Nuendo, pro logic audio, cool edit pro,wavelab,t-racks,etc,etc)But where I would like help is in the interface.I don' want to use my soundcard because I can't stand latency issues as I do everything multitracked not to mention quality.I was going to buy a tascam u-122 but am not sure about the pre-amps.Should I buy a small tube amp as well as an interface or just stick with an all in one unit?I only require one or two inputs max. What is better firewire or USB?I could really use someones help here!!!!

You don't have a decent recording interface yet you went out and spent thousands of bucks on "Nuendo, pro logic audio, cool edit pro,wavelab,t-racks,etc,etc" ?????
If you had just spent $60 on N-Track, you would have money leftover to get a REALLY nice A/D converter (much better then a U-122) and mics/pre-amps/acoustic treatment (they're pretty important too!)

But hey, it's your money!

Oh wait, did you actually pay for that software? Come on, fess up!

PS - I write software for a living and I DO NOT tolerate piracy, as do many others here, so I expect you won't get much help. Might want to start looking for another BBS.

yeah seems strange you having the high dollar Nuendo and thinking that a 122 would be good enough sheesh! your better off buying a Mackie Spike with Tracktion 2 that is legal to use and has a nice simple interface as well as many tools to get you through or you can go better and get Tracktion 2 and a Firewire interface both work well and they are not stolen.

..sea of choices..

All you idiots!!!

I am insulted by all of you who jump to unsubstantiated conclusions about from where I have received my software. If you must know I have a very good friend here in Quebec who does all the recording for Claude Dubois and he set my software up on my computer.I wasn't asking for help with the morality of pirated software so you can all get off your HIGH HORSES and maybe give somebody a hand when they ask you a specific question instead of spewing out rhetoric. Simple minds!!!!!!!!!!!
