Looping

So I basically want to get into looping and I'm planning to get the Akai Headrush but I don't want to just record guitar loops; I'd like to get other things in as well through a mic. I know a mixer needs to be involved in the process but what comes after? Is there a way to have the guitar signal come through an amp while the rest come from a PA system? I have no idea about what else is a requirement and how would the setup be accomplished (I'm no gearhead).

And if someone can point out an effective, yet cheap mixer, that would be fantastic. Besides the guitar, I'm mainly looking for a one-mic deal but the more, the merrier.

I have a Boss RC-50 which does the job for me. A google search will yield far more info than I could post here. It would probably be worth a look.
 
Thanks. Believe me, I've tried Google... a lot. I've already done my research on the looper pedal I'd like and even though I know the RC50 has an XLR input, I'm not a fan of the sound and prefer the options that come with the Headrush.
