Loop Sample CD's

Hi All

Your opinions appreciated. I've used various methods over the years, to get a good drum track down as part of a recording/writing project. My varied tastes and influences mean I can shift, chameleon-like from style to style, depending on mood, but I will generally use a rhythm tracks in most of the tunes, all except when I'm in melancholic acoustic-guitar roots mode.

If I'm creating a dance or drum and bass influenced tune, I'm happy to use all the various loops, programme and sample software at my disposal, but when I want to create more classic songs, I stumble when using my current loops or programmed drums; getting them sound good, authentic and 'real'. (i.e. proper acoustic kits)

So, finally, I've considered splashing out on some Loop sample CD's.

  • Does anyone have much experience of these?
  • Would You recommend good brand?
  • Many of the advertised CD libraries seem American (and very good) Do you know of any UK companies producing the same?

Cheers, folks:)
Rob

Well it all depends on the type of music you do....but i think Spectrasonics do great sounds and loops, whether it be sample cds (backbeat, liquid grooves etc.) or VSTIs (stylus RMX). check 'em out.

There are quite a few British labels that do sample cds....
