Hello and thanks for reading..
I have a lot of music gear that I have recently decided to put back into use. I want to put it all together into a home studio, and start playing/practicing again. I have been trying to hook just the midi stuff up and its not working. Here is a list of all the stuff I own and want to hook up together.

1. Computer, windows 7, realtek high definition audio, loaded with Cubase LE and Cakewalk Producer and EZDrummer.
2. Lexicon Omega Interface with software installed
3. Roland XP-30
4. GEM PK-7
5. Fostex VF160ex
6. TC Helicon voice works
7. Electric Guitars w/amp
8. studio mic

If anyone would like to mentor me thru this setup, I would be very grateful!!!!

But what might would do for starters is someone drawing a layout of how would be the best way to wire all this together

How it is wired depends on what your workflow is going to be, and that depends on whether you are going to be primarily PC-based or Fostex-based.

What did you have in mind?

If you want to connect midi, you can go from the midi out of a synth to the midi in of the lambda, and midi out of lambda to midi in of a synth. I would connect the audio out of that synth to a pair of line-ins on the lambda. You can then record midi in Cubase, mess around with it, play it back through your synth and record the audio.

What speakers are you using?

You should think about monitoring and playing back through the lambda. Forget about the PC's realtek stuff.

Well I am wanting to be computer based, because of versatility. The Fostex doesn't have to be used, I was just thinking of having my computer do some playback type stuff and I could track record with Fostex (live mode), and then return it finally to computer. My biggest hurdle right now is making my xp-30 talk to(( thru the Omega (midi interface) and then to)) my computer.
Here is what I have so far...

I have my Roland XP-30 midi out connected to midi in of Lexicon Omega and also the midi in of XP-30 to midi out on Omega. The only wire I have coming from omega to computer is USB. I have tried to get the keyboard to be used by soft synths by use of midi, but nothing is working. This is what is holding me back, any help would be greatly appreciated.

No real monitors, using headphones and computer speakers (aletc lansings with sub) when necessary .
