Looking for mixers to mix this song

If there's anyone willing to compress their wav files to a zip file for download, I'd love to take a shot at mixing this too.

Well, there are ways to run Windows within a Mac, so that may be their method of using the software for the APE files.

Yeah Ive heard people saying they can run windows on a Mac

Im going to ask a few people who use macs and see how they deal with APE files.

MAX. Open Source.

I really don't like APE. Not too well supported even on Windows. For instance, a lot of people are having problems with Win7/64. And it's not very good even. Why don't you use FLAC which is a well supported lossless audio codec you can add to most DAW's.

Hey here's my mix version. I still think it might need some work in the vocals a bit and I'm not real sure about the entire balance. A lot of it was lost in transfer.

BTW, you really know how to make killer ear metronomes. And boy I thought I got shot when I heard the whole entire thing for the first time in Cubase, everything was very loud.

Yeah the metronomes are loud when all tracks are playing together.

Its improtant to have click on each track however I agree its loud...I didnt create the click...original recorder did that.

Your mix isnt to bad...I notice some issues with volume levels...some parts seem louder than others in parts.

Overall the mix is ok however its not up to me to choose the final mix...I will let the original artist do that.

Thanks

I'm gonna go back and cut down on the lead guitar when the main vocals come in. Then I'll try to bring out the vocals a bit.

took the day off to get all the files:mad::mad::mad: but i've got them now.

am i the only one having trouble with vox and guitars?

drums and bass are fine, but vox and guitar tracks playback like white noise with a faint hint of what the should sound like, in the background.

I didn't have the issue, the guitar sounded fine, a little too distorted, but not really.

hmm...i duno what's goin on then...

tbh..it took so long to get/convert them,,,i'll probably just leave it alone..

to clarify, i'm not exaggerating to be sarcy or whatever...

i mean white noise....like there's a conversion problem or something?

What program are you using? Do you have any VST plugins or and fx on when you started initially? What OS do you use and did you uncompress the APE file as told? I agree that this is a lot of hassle really but it was too bad on my end.

Here's a revised version of the mix

hey!

thanks for taking an interest..

i'm on a mac pro running 10.6.4 and i used that max program that's linked earlier on in the thread.
i'm running pro tools 8.3 or 8.0.3 or WETF version they're on now.

i was pretty confident that it's not a problem at my end since the drums and bass worked just fine,,,,but no one else seems to be having a problem...

when i imported the waves, i just assumed the dude had tracked tracked far too hot cos the wavs were like rectangles...but there u go...something's gone wrong!

Any memory eating programs running in the background while you were uploading? And do you have the guitar parts on mono? Has it done this with any other projects?

nothing else running bar web browser and PT , i have all the individual tracks in mono,

there's silence when there should be silence, but distortion when there should be audio..

its literally like you've put a limiter on the tracks then whacked the gain up by 500db! lool..

never ever ever happened before.

Really strange, have you tried lowering down the levels of the guitar? It's pretty hot straight outta the download and it clipped quite I bit when I heard it for the first time. Might be the same with you except 10x worse.

nah, it's beyond that man..it would take you to listen very carefully to realise that it isn't actual white noise..

ach well,,screw it..thanks anyway.

Thanks for posting your mix's

Hope to hear more mixes from other people as well.
