Im doing a mix for someone...overall the mix I did isnt to bad (except the vocals could be mixed better)

I want to know if someone wants to try a mix and see if they can do a better job.

The drummer on this song is pretty protective of his drum recordings so all I ask is that you dont use his drums for other songs or he will rip me a new one.

:spank:

If anyone is interested I can work on posting seps...will take a while to upload.

Song is called "A Lot Like Me"

New mix...still a work in progress so I will keep updating my mixes...Lead guitar delay needs work and adjusting...overall the mix is ok except for the lead in parts and perhaps vocals need more attention as well.

Program to uncompress APE files...the audio tracks above are WAV files however they have been compressed to APE to save upload and download time...Use Monkeys Audio program to uncompress files...Its a small, quick and safe 1 MB download.

http://www.monkeysaudio.com/

Download and open Monkeys Audio...click on little arrow beside compress or uncompress (top left) to choose what action you want to do.

then just open up files and drag and drop into program...then click compress or uncompress...wait until they are ready...then clear files from monkeys audio when done.

Files should appear in folder you had original files.

Im uploading tracks now

They are WAV files compressed down to APE to make smaller and save upload and download time.

I use this program to compress or uncompress so you will have to download this unless you have another program that uncompresses APE files.

Its a simple program and small download.

Just upload the wavs in a compressed folder. All this extra unzipper mess is unnecessary.

Yeah they are in a compressed folder.

Compressing down to APE makes files like half or even less than half the size.

The extra step of uncompressing isnt to bad...its an easy and fast program to use.

I didnt compress to APE when I posted files yesterday and it took forever to upload so i decided to use monkeys audio this time...went much faster...painless.

I think what Greg is saying is to just compress the WAV files to a zip folder. No one wants or needs the extra hassle of downloading another program, installing, etc. just to decompress APE files. It would be quicker and easier for us to just compress to zip.

I understand what Gregs saying however I collabed enough to know that
downloading that program isnt a hassle...its a major time saver.

Its cool if people dont want to download it although its such a small download I dont really see it as a hassle.

The exe file when downloading is 1 MB...very small and quick program.

Its a clean and safe download

I completely understand how some things are a hassle, but if this APE format really does cut the file size in half, I would say it's worth saving the time of uploading and then downloading (not everyone has blazing speeds, even in this day and age) to just download the little app and use it.

What about people on macs? I don't think exe files work on macs, do they?

Well, yeah. I'm pretty sure the Mac version of .exe is .dmg. It doesn't look like this app was developed for Macs, just Windows.

I will have to check and see what people use to umcompress APE files if they have a mac.

Everyone uses APE over at another site I go to and surely some of them are using Macs.

Have to find out I guess.

Time to mix a drink...:drunk:

:)

Almost forgot about the Bass Track

Here is the file

I compressed to APE again just to speed things up.

Original file was 42.19 MB...after compressed to APE it was 7.39 MB.

Big difference in upload and download times when you can shrink the file like that and have no loss of quality doing it.

Well, there are ways to run Windows within a Mac, so that may be their method of using the software for the APE files.
