looking for good bass drum mike

I have been looking into bass drum mics. Which would be better the sure beta or the senheiser?

seems the akg d112 or the electro-voice re-20 are the big guns for kick drum, in my circle of recording....

Audix D4 is an excellent kick mic.

The at pro 25 Is reccomended by harvey and the 8th st music has it for 59.00. I got mine for 30.00 used and it got a really good rock sound.

The pro 25 can sound very impressive, nice and clicky not so sure about its faithfullness but it does the job

I would be very careful about saying something like that.

Harvey may have made positive comments about this mic but I doubt that it is the only "kick" mic Harvey would recommend (which is how your comment could be interpreted) or whether it would be the only "kick" mic he would use. Just check out the mic list at Harvey's studio.

Personally, I use an AKG D112.
