Hey guys, I have been recording for the past 7 months in my house but have been doing live sound at a local club for the past 5 years.

I use a imac with logic pro 9 and a presounds firestudio with rokit 5's and a Art pro channel with a mxl-400 for vocals.

let me know what you think of the mix and what i can do new, all of the people I have shown that have a studio around me have way to big of heads to help me out!

thanks for your time guys!

ps: if you guys know how to record screaming vocals better let me know, also if you know of some new stuff i need to buy plug-in wise or preamp or mic wise let me know!

The scream vocals sound excellent in my opinion, the guitar has a nice metal tone to it and it's pretty clean. I think the drums are a little out of sync with the music at points(But it's barely noticeable and it could just be me). The only thing I think needs work so far is the clean vocals, I feel like they are being forced in the background. Maybe a little bit of high end EQ needs to be added along with some big room reverb, that could sound really cool. Anyways, your song sounds awesome, it's very impressive.

The mixing is pretty good on my monitors. I would work more on a tighter performance from the musicians. As stated above, no offense, but those clean vocals kill the whole thing for me. Too dry and pitchy.

Yeah its always hard to get theses bands tight when they cant play to a click.
I dont have the right stuff to fix the vocals all the way yet.
But yeah I thought about adding more "room" on the vocals but they wanted them to be flat and in the background.

thanks so much guys for checking this out.

I know what you mean. It's hard working with people who think they are better than they really are. Too many people have been polite to them. I used to be polite but I wasn't doing anyone any favors. I figured out if I just come out and tell them they stink, they'll get mad and leave, but they will still work on it.

Recording sounds pretty good, the drum sound's great, but there are pretty obvious timing hitches. The drummer seems to be playing in time to me, maybe it's the other stuff that's not in time. They're not a bad band though and if they work more closely on those clean vocals it'll sound better. Very Bullet for my Valentine at times.....

lmao you should come record my band for me, great sound quality but a poor choice in bands to record lol, these bands are multiplyin left and right, to record screaming vocals tho i know a couple lil tricks, for low growl/inale/throat growl style lows you really only need a normal ass mic, w.e set up you have is very good, you could spend a few bucks and buy autotune, it's really gay and for (emocore) Metalcore bands but it'll fix that guys slight uh.... pitch troubles lol

ooops for highs you can take a piece of thick construction paper and make a cone around a mic, focus's the high screams better that way, idk sometimes high's tend to go everywhere instead of forward lol

Lead guitar sounds a little loud in the mix. Obviously lead is meant to be forward but it seems to stick out. Gate the toms. I can hear them ring for about a second or two after ever hit.
