I didn't think to ask here about an old jazz drummer friend I'm trying to track down. He wasn't too well known, except by other drummers in the 50s and 60s. His name is Freddie Gruber, but he might be calling himself Freddy Gruber these days. Great drummer, but we lost track of each other years ago. Anybody heard of him or know how to contact him? Thanks for any help.

Looks like he is in LA....

He isn't hard to find. Looks like he's a freakin legend on the drums.
Thank you - that worked. Got Freddie's number and I'll call him this week. Yup, he's finally gotten the public recognition he's always deserved. Back then, everybody in the jazz community knew who he was, but nobody outside of the real player ever heard of him.

Thank you, thank you, thank you again for all the help.

No problem.

Anytime! With all the information you've given us
this is nothing.....

Thanks for everything.

Yep. I noticed a lot of drummers saying
"Taught by Gruber" on their resumes.

Cya later.

I think teaching NP brought a lot of recognition to Mr. Gruber.

Unfortunately, NP seems to have since given up trad grip and remains as mechanical as ever.

It's unfortunate about his brother, Hans.

Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker.
