So I started mixing about a month ago and I've definitely learned a lot but I'm still struggling quite a bit with getting a good clear sound. I'm using Cubase as my DAW, Superior Drummer for drums, Lepou's Lecto and Legion for amp simulation along with God's cab for all cabs and Third Bass for Bass simulation. I've attached an mp3 of one of the songs I'm currently working on. If anyone has any advice for how I might be able to clean up the mix, it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you so much!

The mix isn't to bad, but it seems like the guitars are alittle distant, I am assuming you double tracked them? Pan them 75/75. It will make them sound alittle more up front. The vocals, too loud, and have way to much reverb on them. Dry them up a bit, try triple tracking vocals to make them sound thick. Leave the main vocal track centered, then pan the others 90/90 left and right. It don't sound as if there is a bass track in there, get your drums sounding the way you want them, then mix the bass in there with the drums. The bass should fill in alot of what the guitar is lacking. I am assuming you are a total noob on this, but high pass and low pass on guitars, bass, and vocals. I usually only put a high pass on drums set pretty low, like 60hz at a Q of 1.0. Don't mean to tear your recording apart by no means, just trying to give you some friendly suggestions. For only experimenting with recording for about a month you are doing pretty good.

There are 2 guitars which have both been double tracked. One at 70 percent left and hard right and one at 70 percent right and hard left. I have played with a new reverb plugin that sounds a bit more natural so that should help but I only double tracked the vocals and panned them at 15/15. The bass track is an old one that I was unable to edit to my liking. Maybe this particular song is a bad example in that case. Maybe an eq on the final drum mix would help, I only eqed the pieces individually but not as a whole. Thanks for the advice.
