Slowing becoming un-noob.
I know they are sold through certified fender retailers. But is there a place I could find them on the internet? The nearest guitar center is 5 hours from me. And I don't have a car.

Anyone have any advice? Could I call a guitar center and have them ship it to me?

Thanks for the help!

First of all... great amp :D

i've looked and so far haven't found an online source. maybe they'll work it out eventually, but for now they're struggling with the SCXD being backordered EVERYWHERE! That actually hinders the efforts of us "early birds" to recommend the amp to others. It has to be played to believe, but there aren't any to be played, so... oh, bother!

If I were you, I'd call GC and ask them.

I know I'll order mine through GC when I'm there next time. I talked to a guy there and he told me they can order it and it's $24.95 MSRP and they should be able to offer a small discount, as they should, because MSRP is for loosers ;)

Other than that, possibly eBay.

Again, nice amp!

I put the Jensen p10r in mine and it's very sweet.

BTW, did you see this:

http://www.fender.com/products/amplifiers/superchampxd/

it has a "live" SCXD front panel, which shows knob settings for each soundclip.

Yeah, I love it. I wish it got just a little louder for my gigs where I can't mic it.

But seriously. It is an amazing amp.
I have mine hooked up to a 2x12 cab with v30's. Sounds pretty damn good.

Thanks for the link! Awesome! Can't wait to try this out a little, ha.

Oh and by the way...I found that plugging my buddy's Marshall single switch pedal works with the SCXD. But it only switches channels, it doesnt turn on/off the eq. So yeah.
Here's a link.

It makes me wonder if a marshall two switch foot-switch would work for both channel switching and EQ on/off.
Just thought I'd let you know, if you were interested.

But yeah.
Thanks again for that link.

i wonder if the volume would be adequate with a 4x12? what situation are you talking about? (which instruments are you playing/competing with?)

i don't think so. i've tried another Fender 2-way switch and others have tried Marshalls and others, they don't work (possibly because the fx are digital). in my case (and others i've read) the channel button would turn off fx and the other button would not work.

I'm using it with a 2x12 w/v30's. Competing against drums, and that's it.

Yeah, I didn't think the 2 switch footswitch would work. I came up with the same results as you.
But with the single footswitch, it worked with the channel switching. But yeah.

Below is a schematic diagram for the footswitch for a Fender "Evil Twin". The switches control the channel and reverb using a two connection phone plug (tip& sleeve). If the SCXD uses a two connection plug like this it might be usable. Being frugal with my cash I built this footswitch for about $5 plus some junk box parts. Cheapest I could find this online was $40.

If it's a three connection stereo type plug you might try buying a plug at Radio Shack and using a jumper wire try shorting different combinations of the plug connections and see if it will control the channel and effects. The trick is to figure out what is used as the common return connection for the switch. If this works it shouldn't be too hard to build your own switch box.

If the MSRP is $24.95 there can't be too much inside the box but a couple of switches.

Mark....
That's Way over my head. Are you saying that you figured out how to build your own footswitch that works with the SCXD? Or no?
But yeah, I really don't know anything about any of that stuff to attempt to build my own.

No, I built one for "The Twin" (aka Evil Twin) from the attached schematic. All I'm saying is if the SCXD uses a mono type phono plug such as the one I built, it may be possible to use a similiar type of footswitch as what the Evil Twin uses. It just may not have the same names for the switches as one for the SCXD.

If the footswitch is $24.95 or less when it does come out that's not a bad deal.

If I didn't think the wife would kill me, I'm awful tempted to pickup an SCXD.
Oh alright. So If I buy the footswitch for "The Twin" it might work with my SCXD?

You should definitely get one sometime. They sure are fun.

wow, i'm surprised. I don't see how even the stock speaker wouldn't be plenty loud with SOME drummers. IMHO it's plenty loud for a jazz-type sound/situation. I'm sure that there are other situations, in which case mic-ing is probably in order.

I used it with a high powered Reggae band a couple nights ago, and it pretty much held it's own volume-wise. Sure wish there was a way to switch fx live. This little amp is amazing!
beginning of July, and STILL no Fender XD footswitches available :(

i wouldn't hold my breath for retail fs - just call GC and order it. I had mine within 2 weeks.

Of course, I hardly use it, because I use Voicing #2 - clean when I want it and dig in for grit.

I've also been using it for rock practice and it is plenty loud with drums. I have it around 6, but you could go higher. You may not be used to diming an amp, but it'll sound great. just don't stand too close or use earplugs!
